AI transforming the game industry: The Last Masterpiece of the human-only era of game design (GTA 6) is coming. Major studios are going to accelerate with AI. Aravind Srinivas says America is the market to build for

America is the market to build for 🇺🇸 More than 50% of our users who spend money on Automations (recurring agentic tasks) or on the higher tier plans are American. Net dollar retention for an American self serve business onboarded on agents is consistently high https://twitter.com/mollysoshea/status/2110118882102890524

Anthropic and OpenAI Seemed to Have the AI Race to Themselves Last Week

Last week, Anthropic and OpenAI appeared to be pulling ahead with increasingly powerful models, while Google seemed far behind and Meta had yet to establish itself as a serious contender despite spending billions to revive its AI ambitions. The source text ends mid-sentence, so it does not say what changed or why the AI race is back on.

My AI doppelganger tells me what to eat

Victoria Song reviews roughly 100 days with Twin Health, an AI digital twin program that predicts glucose responses to food using personal health data and continuous glucose monitoring. She reports improved labs, including triglycerides dropping by 70mg/dL, but no meaningful weight loss or hoped-for success reducing medications; some lab values were already improving before the program. Human coaching helped motivate exercise, while extensive tracking caused fatigue and raised questions about privacy and trust in higher-stakes medical uses.

AI is mass decompiling games. That's both awesome and scary.

Simon Willison highlights indie game developer Popcar’s account of a recent wave of AI-powered game decompilation, enabling unusual game mashups and preservation projects that bring old games to new hardware, often in browsers using WebAssembly. Popcar describes risks including competitors copying software and paid apps being open-sourced against their creators’ wishes, alongside benefits such as easier ports, modifications, and continued access when game servers shut down.

Ethan Mollick Questions the Purpose of Anonymous AI Slop Comments

I really don’t understand the point of the AI slop comments flooding my posts. At least on LinkedIn they are pushing fake expertise to make their posters look good (it doesn’t, but whatever). But what is gained by dozens of anonymous bots making similar replies to posts like this? https://t.co/rM8ywQCrwA

Very cool to see Embedding Gemma 2 by @Google, number on trending on HF! The media and silicon valley bubble only talks about reasoning LLMs when there is a much bigger variety of AI models that are super impactful and useful like embeddings, decision models, audio, video, time-series,... (over 3M public models on HF!). Let's put them back in the spotlight!

The ideal outcome for science isn't a couple of labs using proprietary models and millions of dollars to crack trophy problems, it's to have millions of AI-aided human scientists who follow their curiosity and become way more ambitious

Argon Creates a Game About Imminence

Argon is quite different: “A game about Imminence. Something very big, very strange is happening. A suburb & the arrival of a vast & unknowable presence. Not horror, invoke the feeling of the end of all things coming, inevitably, but also not sad or scary” https://t.co/9hiPnuqexe https://t.co/hzJ3lAi0ez

We will soon see what will be, in effect, a perfectly legal distributed denial of service attack on customer service departments authorized by millions of consumers when it becomes widely known that Muse/Dot/etc can make unlimited requests for old refunds, negotiate deals, etc.
