AWS published a walkthrough for building a multi-agent engineering assistant that gathers evidence for aerospace part-substitution decisions, using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, Amazon Nova Multimodal Embeddings and the open source Strands Agents SDK. In the design AWS describes, a planner routes queries to Catalog, Evaluation and Knowledge agents; deterministic Python tolerance rules score candidate parts; and the system drafts justification memos and Integration Impact Assessments, while the engineer makes every decision. The walkthrough requires an AWS account with access to Amazon Bedrock in the US East (N. Virginia) Region, and its notebook shows the steps without running them. AWS says Nova Multimodal Embeddings is now available in AWS GovCloud (US), which it ties to aerospace and defense programs subject to data residency, ITAR and FedRAMP requirements. AWS also notes that availability of Nova Multimodal Embeddings and AgentCore features varies by Region and advises checking AWS Services by Region before planning a deployment.
