Cloudera and Mistral partner to bring dedicated sovereign intelligence to enterprise data

Mistral and Cloudera are partnering to integrate Mistral models into Cloudera's hybrid data platform. Enterprises can run inference in private or public clouds, on premises, or in fully air-gapped environments while retaining full control. They can also train their own models on proprietary data in controlled environments while keeping ownership of both data and models. Cloudera's platform hosts 30 exabytes of customer-managed data.

Mark Chen says no human or agent reviewed user data for the Navier–Stokes effort

Two things to distinguish: Did any human or agent look at user data as part of the Navier Stokes effort? No. Do we use user feedback and de-identified data to improve ChatGPT and Codex in a holistic way? Yes. And so does every LLM company. @__alpoge__ said de-identified data from product use might have helped improve OpenAI’s models. They praised the disclosure, then shared their view of the Navier Stokes effort and said they would have been open to collaborating.

Sébastien Bubeck Clarifies OpenAI’s Discussions With Levent About Euler and Navier-Stokes

Sébastien Bubeck said he contacted Levent to coordinate releases and denied asking for Levent to be removed from authorship. He said they discussed having Tristan lead a rewrite of OpenAI’s Navier-Stokes proof, and that internal Anthropic models had been used in the Euler blowup proof. Bubeck said he wanted to offer access to an internal OpenAI model, apologized for saying Levent risked his career, and said he retracted the remark during the call.

Google DeepMind pilots the first global double-blind AI evaluation

Google DeepMind says it has launched the first double-blind evaluation of proprietary frontier AI models, restricting external evaluators to an encrypted environment so models cannot encounter test questions in advance. The pilot, conducted with Singapore's AI Safety Institute, OpenMined, AVERI, and MLCommons, uses confidential benchmarks to test a Gemini Flash Lite model in a privacy-preserving environment and improve evaluation credibility.
