Oriol Vinyals announced he is leaving Google DeepMind after thirteen years, a journey that began with an email exchange with Jeff Dean and ran through Brain, DeepMind, seq2seq and distillation work, and co-leading projects including AlphaStar and Gemini. He says he is building Discovery Loop (@DiscoLoopAI) alongside Jeff Dean, Quoc Le and Sanjay Ghemawat.
