- Who
- Vercel
- What
- reported Jev's adoption among paid teams in its AI gateway
What happened
Jev reached 35% of paid teams within two weeks of launch, the fastest adoption recorded by Vercel and nearly twice the reach of Sonnet 5.5. Typesafe AI’s lightweight decision model selects among predetermined outputs for cheaper, faster classification. The figures come from Vercel’s AI gateway, which may undercount providers with their own APIs; open-source models now represent more than 70% of gateway tokens and nearly 25% of spending.
The story so far
Vercel reported that Typesafe AI’s Jev reached 35% of paid teams using its AI gateway within two weeks of launch, making it the gateway’s fastest-adopted AI model on record. Its reach was nearly twice that of Sonnet 5.5, the second most popular model in Vercel’s figures. Jev is a lightweight decision model that selects among predetermined outputs for classification. The adoption figures apply to Vercel’s AI gateway, rather than the broader AI market: TechCrunch noted that the gateway may undercount usage of providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic because they also offer their own APIs.
