BaoCut Adds Claude Design and Claude Slides Alongside Video Editing
- Who

- What
- shares BaoCut’s integration of Claude Design and Claude Slides
What happened
Baoyu integrated reverse-engineered Claude Design and Claude Slides into BaoCut, an open-source Agent originally focused on video editing. He reports substantially improved design performance when GPT-6.1 Sol uses the Claude Design Skill, possibly because Claude Design defaults to Claude Design System Skill; standalone Skills would not support editing and annotation, so he integrated them into BaoCut. Users can download or run BaoCut locally, use a local agent CLI such as codex, and select the design skill during a session. https://github.com/JimLiu/baocut/commit/7aa049e8 https://baocut.com
The story so far
Baoyu (dotey) integrated reverse-engineered Claude Design and Claude Slides into BaoCut, expanding the open-source agent beyond its original focus on video editing. He said he integrated them into BaoCut because offering them as standalone skills would not support editing and annotation; the skill and front-end code are available in the project. Baoyu reported substantially better design performance when GPT-6.1 Sol used the Claude Design Skill. He suggested this might be because Claude Design uses the Claude Design System Skill by default. Users can try the integration by downloading BaoCut or running it locally, connecting a local agent CLI such as codex, and selecting the design skill during a session.
