OpenAI delays IPO over AI safety concerns
What happened
OpenAI has delayed its IPO until next year and is discussing a new private funding round of $30 billion or more at a valuation of about $1.4 trillion. Vivian Dong, program director at LASST, said the lawsuit against OpenAI is the first of its kind. As AI advances, she expects hacking incidents to become more frequent and complex and suspects OpenAI understands the legal risks of agent behavior.
