How 5,500 optical engines support a 4,096-card supernode: Huawei's NPO story continues
What happened
Huawei HiSilicon's in-house Hi-ONE optical engine will be deployed using NPO in the next-generation supernode. In the Ascend 960 supernode, 5,500 units will replace 48,000 pluggable 800G optical modules. The Lingqu interconnect equipment between racks supports 176 1.6T ports, with about 280T of all-optical interconnect bandwidth per machine.
