- What
- reconstructed and presented a continuous 3D Gaussian model of Minning Town for the documentary Minning Avenue
- Quote
纪录片摄制组使用其域创新(XGRIDS)自主研发的空间采集设备与自主研发的软件,以及自主创新的大场景 3DGS 数据格式LCC,完成了这片区域的三维重建与可视化呈现。
What happened
XGRIDS reconstructed 23.5 square kilometers of Minning Town as a continuous 3D Gaussian model containing 6.2 billion Gaussian ellipsoids, featured in a China Media Group documentary. The project used 186,000 aerial and ground images and 15 billion LiDAR points, collected over seven days; reconstruction reached centimeter-level geometric accuracy with error below 2 cm. The production team used XGRIDS’ LCC Plugin for Unreal Engine to bring the model into the documentary.
The story so far
XGRIDS reconstructed 23.5 square kilometers of China’s Minning Town as a continuous 3D Gaussian model containing 6.2 billion Gaussian ellipsoids, which was featured in China Media Group’s documentary Minning Avenue. The project used 186,000 aerial and ground images and 15 billion LiDAR points collected over seven days. Leiphone reported that the reconstruction achieved centimeter-level geometric accuracy, with error below 2 cm. The documentary’s production team used XGRIDS’ spatial capture equipment, software and LCC data format for the reconstruction and visualization, then brought the model into Unreal Engine using XGRIDS’ LCC Plugin.
