Jin Yuzhi: Huawei Qiankun's driver-assistance R&D budget rose from RMB 18 billion to over RMB 19 billion

What happened

Jin Yuzhi, Huawei senior vice president and CEO of Yinwang, said after the Mengshi X700 presale event that Huawei Qiankun's R&D budget for this year had been raised from RMB 18 billion at the start of the year to more than RMB 19 billion. Compute spending this year totals RMB 7–8 billion. He also said Qiankun driver assistance has logged 15.7 billion kilometers, and that driving with ADS enabled is 5.5 times safer than human driving. Jin said automakers and suppliers should collaborate through a healthy division of labor, and that not every technology needs to be developed in-house.
