NVIDIA Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe and Granary v2: Intelligent Multilingual Transcription You Can Prompt and Adapt
What happened
NVIDIA released Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe, an open-weight model supporting transcription in 40 languages, translation to or from English for 31, and speaker attribution in 13, alongside Granary v2’s multilingual data manifests and reusable curation pipeline. Built for recorded audio, the model handles recordings up to an hour long and labels up to eight speakers. An accompanying medical adaptation case study reports a 45.8% relative reduction in held-out-speaker WER versus the best-prompt baseline.
Why it matters
The medical adaptation case study offers a transferable workflow for domain transcription, separating prompt improvements from fine-tuning gains through evaluation on held-out speakers and checks on general-speech accuracy.
