OpenMOSS and Mosi release MOSS-Image, reaching 1.3 million downloads in four days
Mosi and OpenMOSS released MOSS-Image, an open-source image generation model with a 5B-parameter DiT backbone that reportedly reached 1.3 million downloads in four days. It supports Chinese and English text rendering, structured JSON Layout inputs with bounding boxes, and text conditioning up to 4096 tokens. Community developers have produced 8-step and 4-step acceleration variants, quantized versions, and LoRA models; an API is also available.
Why it matters
The reported text coverage metric and layout benchmarks provide context for assessing MOSS-Image in design workflows, with an explicit distinction between text coverage and character accuracy.
