The story so far

Perplexity open-sourced two Decider v1.2 models that are now available on OpenRouter, and released Decider for Mac to run the smaller, 4B-parameter pplx-decider-flash-v1.2 locally without an API key. Perplexity’s developer account says the Mac app returns a probability for questions about text or an image; Aravind Srinivas said it runs entirely on the Mac without data leaving the machine. OpenRouter says both open-weights models accept text or images and return typed answers with probabilities. The larger, 27B-parameter pplx-decider-v1.2 succeeds v1.1. Srinivas listed prices of 1 cent per million tokens for Flash and 2 cents per million tokens for the larger model, and said they ranked first among 4B models and second overall, respectively, on the HF Decision Index.
