What happened
AWS now lets new customers access a configured Amazon SageMaker Studio environment after signing up in 2–3 steps using an existing account or email address, without phone verification or a credit card for most customers. Studio provisions in about 20 seconds, and customers receive $100 in Free Tier credits with opportunities to earn another $100. Free Tier access ends after 6 months or credit exhaustion, whichever comes first, and resource usage stops automatically.

The onboarding changes lower setup requirements for developers trying SageMaker AI, while the credit expiration rules and automatic usage cutoff clarify the boundaries of the free experience.
