OpenAI adds API credits for eligible ChatGPT subscriptions

What happened

OpenAI now gives subscribers on $100, $200, or $500 plans an equivalent amount of API credits to apply to one API organization, Simon Willison reports. Earlier this month, Anthropic announced equivalent expiring credits for Max and Team subscriptions at those prices. Willison subscribes to both companies and says he may now ship public-facing demos because his existing subscriptions cover the credits.
