The story so far
OpenAI agreed to acquire Pierre Computer Company, whose open-source developer tools already power parts of Codex, including tools for browsing project files and viewing code changes. The deal still requires regulatory approval. OpenAI says the acquisition will support its plan to make Codex a place where teams build software collaboratively with AI. The Decoder reports that OpenAI aims to improve Git workflows for developers and AI agents working side by side; Pierre’s projects will remain open source.
