- introduced Agile Deliberation, a framework for collaboratively defining subjective AI classifiers
- Quote
To bridge this gap, we introduce Agile Deliberation , a framework that treats the creation of subjective AI classifiers as an iterative conversation.
What happened
Google Research introduces Agile Deliberation, a framework that helps people refine subjective category definitions through an iterative conversation with an AI system. It has two stages: concept scoping, which organizes a concept into subcategories and exclusions, and concept iteration, which surfaces borderline images for user feedback. Google Research evaluated the framework in 18 live sessions lasting 1.5 hours each and says it reduced user fatigue and anxiety while producing more consistent, higher-performing models than standard baselines.

Google Research introduced Agile Deliberation, a framework that helps people refine subjective category definitions through an iterative conversation with an AI system. It first organizes a concept into subcategories and exclusions, then presents borderline images for users to review and provide feedback.
